The basis of this proposal was disaster relief. This was not the usual response of housing, but a challenge to rethink what disaster relief is. My partner, Josh Harrison, and I designed with the volcanic activities of Mt. Rainier in mind, more specifically the debris flows caused by near instantaneous melt-off of glaciers on the summit due to the heat.
Our proposal is to use the internal resistance of the flow to slow itself down by increasing and aggregating the natural debris.

Design a Multi-Purpose Building in Downtown Boston. One of three sites was chosen- in my case it was the site of the current Harbor Garage. This site is framed by the two housing towers by Cobb, the Boston Aquarium, Greenway, and Harbor. A large aspect of this design was to integrate the large scale of the site as well as the urban aspect that had previously not been introduced to us.
For the personal version of this proposal is here.
